Fitted With "Westex"
There is a mixture of early locomotive types in this Westinghouse Brake and Signal Company advert from January 1952. All were fitted with their "Westex" high efficiency exhauster which had balanced vacuum on either side of the piston which greatly reduced oil consumption. The locomotives illustrated were the 'Fell" diesel mechanical 10100, Eastern Region EM1 electric 26001, Southern Region diesel hydraulic 10201 and London Midland Region diesel electric twins 10000 and 10001.
