Type 1 1000hp Diesel-Electric Locomotives
A June 1958 advert from British Timken Limited. The Leslie Carr painting shows one of the first twenty of what would become known as Class 20s, noted as the first diesel-electric locomotives to be built under the British Railways modernization programme. They were fitted with Timken tapered-roller-bearing axleboxes on all axles.
