Self-changing Gears on G.W.R. Streamline Buffet Railcar
The November 1947 predates this websites modernisation era mandate. Self Changing Gears Limited (SCG) went on to supply the epicyclic gearboxes for the majority of the first generation diesel mechanical multiple units that emerged from the modernisation era. What became the standard power train on these vehicles had their roots in these pioneering GWR railcars.
