Pressed Steel help modernise railways at home and abroad
A Pressed Steel Company Limited advert from January 1960 noting that they were building DMUs for use on the London Suburban Services from Paddington and in the West of England. Illustrated is a Class 116 DMU, and these were originally intended to be built as another batch of Class 116s at Derby Works. However the order was switched to the private builder as the drawings for these vehicles already existed allowing Derby to instead build the 115/127s which they could build 'on the fly'.
