Napier Turbo-blowers boost power of British Railways first main line diesel-hydraulic locomotive

Advert Titled Napier Turbo-blowers boost power of British Railways first main line diesel-hydraulic locomotive

The work Napier makes me immediately think of Deltics yet the products of D. Napier & Sons Limited were fitted in other locomotive types. In this case the MS200 exhaust-driven turbo-blowers were used in the D600 diesel hydraulics to supercharge the two NBL/MAN 1000hp power units. The two illustrations show a power unit with turbo fitted and an unnumbered loco hauling some coaches. The turbos were available in seven sizes and they claim that they could increase the power of 4-stroke engines by 100% and 2-strokes by over 30%.
