This September 1961 colour advert was used on a front page hence the smaller than standard size. The colourized image shows D209 (the last of the initial order of ten vehicles) with a rake of Pullman coaches on the 'Master Cutler'. It notes that two hundred of the locos has been ordered and that they being used to haul express passenger trains for most regions. The English Electric advert notes the two companies that EE took over that built the locos - Vulcan Foundry (180) and Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns (20).
