A late 1956 Metropolitan-Cammell Carriage & Wagon advert noting that 200 diesel railcar vehicles built by the company had now been delivered to British Railway, and that 571 had now been ordered. The image shows a 4-car set (E50147 closest) at Sutton Park, it would be delivered to the North-Eastern Region for Newcastle-Carlisle services.
