Metalastik Bushes Selected for Metrovick Gas Turbine
Metropolitan-Vickers developed a bolsterless swing-link suspension for locomotive 18100 - the first all-British Gas Turbine Electric. To do this they used specially designed Spherical Bearings supplied by Metalastik Limited. The images on the advert show 18100 - which at the time was the most powerful loco on British Railways, photos of the swing-link assembly and the spherical swing-link bush with its rubber-to-metal weld techniques, and a diagram showing a cross-section through the swing link.
