Main Line Diesel Electric Locomotives for British Railways
An interesting combination of a photo of D8400 with a drawing of a coach forms the main graphic in this February 1959 North British Locomotive Company Limited advert. The 800hp Type 1 Bo-Bo locos were built by company for the Eastern Region, fitted with a type 16YHXL Paxman diesel engine and GEC electric equipment. Note that 'The General Electric Company Ltd' is included on the drawing of the NBL worksplate.
