Locomotives for the World
This Metropolitan-Vickers advert from December 1955 features three of their latest builds for home and abroad. For the UK 18100 - the 'first All-British Gas Turbine Electric Locomotive" - is shown, which was being supplied to the Western Region. For other countries a 1072hp 3000v DC loco for Rede Mineira de Viacao (Brazil) and 1200hp shunting locos for South African Railways. The company noted as being was part of the A.E.I. group of companies.
