East Anglia Knows the Power of Mirrlees National
This Mirrlees National Limited (part of Hawker Siddeley Industries) advert from January 1963 has the one of their JVST12 engines as the main image. These were fitted in the Brush built Type IIs of which locomotive D5531 is illustrated in the second illustration. The text focuses on their use in East Anglia, noting their use on the Great Eastern Section in ever increasing numbers, both on fast passenger and a growing shore of freight workings.
