The adverts from The Birmingham Railway Carriage Company often followed this same format showing the variety of different stock in production or recently completed. In this version from 1961 the four items built by the Smethwick firm are from four different countries, and all are produced in collaboration with other firms. The diesel mechanical railcars - twin articulation sets for New Zealand Government Railways and 400hp twin sets for the Nigerian Railway Corporation - were in collaboration with The Drewry Car Company. The Diesel Electric Locomotives - 1,000Hp AIA-AIAs for the Sierra Leone Development Company and 1,550hp Bo-Bos for British Railways - were in collaboration with Sulzer Brothers and Crompton Parkinson. The latter, which fell into the Type 3 category, became known as a Class 33.
