This is one of a series of similar adverts by the DP Battery Company Limited of Bakewell, Derbyshire, featuring different traction. The 2,000hp English Electric Type 4s were fitted with a 276 Ah battery from their Kathanode range comprised of 48 cell. The image shows the first built D200, the type later known as Class 40s. The February 1960 advert promises their batteries will give a good start and long trouble-free service with maximum economy and minimum weight.
