Buoyant Lace Web Seating for Maximum Comfort

Advert Titled Buoyant Lace Web Seating for Maximum Comfort

This December 1954 advert shows the seating inside one of the first diesel multiple units built for British Railways - the Derby Lighweights built for the West Riding. The seats in the first class saloon would have blue coloured moquette. The image was supplied by Derby Works (negative 54/436). The Lace Web Spring company was nearby to Derby at Sandiacre, Nottingham. I believe the "Buoyant Lace Web" refers to their spring design inside the seats. The advert layout was used for a series of adverts with different vehicle types.

This advert appears in the following categories: Traction: Derby Lightweight ; Supplier: Lace Web Spring Company ; Component: Seats
