A July 1961 half page advert from The Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company. Illustrated is loco E3001 built in conjunction with the Traction Division of A.E.I. (Associated Electrical Industries). It would be designated an AL1 type, later a Class 81 as 81001.
