Metro-Cammell A1 Craftmanship
The Metropolitan-Cammell Carriage & Wagon Company Limited produced a number of adverts celebrating milestones reaching in their diesel railcar building for British Railways. This one from February 1959 notes that over 500 (and to be clear - that is vehicles and not sets) have been delivered from their Saltley Works. They would build more that any other contractor - 760 in all. The image features a three-car set (E50273 + E59103 + E52083) with Rolls-Royce engines which become a Class 111.
