 Advert Titled 2500hp Per Engine for British Railways

A Sulzer Bros. Limited advert from March 1959 showing a 2500hp twin-bank diesel engine ordered through Crompton-Parkinson for the British Transport Commission. The 137 power units were at the time the most powerful engines being supplied to British Railways. The 12LDA28 pictured was fitted with Crompton Parkinson main and auxiliary generators was from an earlier order and they were being built by Vickers-Armstrongs.
